Son of Jonathan and Mary "Polly" Reeves Winnett. Nathan married Elizabeth Phillips in Morgan County, Indiana Septrmber 23, 1846. The family journied to Illinois by horse and wagon to settle in 1863. Nathan and Elizabeth had 9 children: Mary Elizabeth, Addison, Lucy Ann, Margaret J., George, Lucinda, John W., David and Bethsheba. Elizabeth died shortly after giving birth to Bethsheba in 1863.

Nathan married Sarah Elizabeth McMechan Kline March 25, 1866. Nathan and Sarah Elizabeth had 4 children: Artemecia DeEtta, Amelia Arabelle, Rosy M. and Nathan Sylvester. and is believed to be buried at Casey Cumberland cemetery in Casey, Illinois.

Nathan's first wife is believed to be buried in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, Illinois. His second wife is buried beside him.

NOTE: Nathan is my Dad's Maternal Grandfather. His daughter Aremecia DeEtta is Dad's mother.
