George E. Casselman was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Ogdensburg, son of Charles A. and Jennie Burnside Casselman , he graduated in 1944 from Ogdensburg Free Academy. He married Anastasia "Ann" Cordwell on Sept. 1, 1948, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur E. Kelly officiating.

Mr. Casselman worked in the maintenance department at Canton Agricultural and Technical College, retiring in 1992 after more than 20 years' service. He also worked for a time at the Ogdensburg Journal.

He was a life member of Ogdensburg Amvets and the American Legion and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he also was a deacon and an elder. He enjoyed woodworking and yard work.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Suzanne Casselman Messenheimer, Outer Banks, N.C., and Janice Casselman English, Lisbon; a sister, Patricia Worden, Adams Center; his twin brother, Malcolm, Ogdensburg, three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
