CALHOUN CITY - Lelia Hollis Putnam, 92, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Calhoun Health Services. She was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Calhoun County. She was a homemaker and a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the Calhoun City First Baptist Church and the Joy Club.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Anthony Kay and the Rev. David Tuten officiating. Burial will be in Houston Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, W. Hollis Putnam and wife, Sandra, of Jackson; one sister, Mallie Skinner of Vardaman; one brother, Charles Hollis of Vardaman; two grandchildren, Melanie Putnam Atkins and Blake Martin Putnam; three great-grandchildren, Mason Atkins, Morgan Atkins and Winston Hammond "Stone" Putnam.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Winston "Put" Putnam; two sisters, Lora Hollis Evans and Flora Hollis Caulder; and two brothers, Clyde Hollis and F.G. Hollis Sr.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
