Mallie Helen Hollis Skinner, 98, of Vardaman died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 at Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo. She was born July 14, 1917 in Vardaman, the daughter of Berry Frank and Sarah Alice Blue Hollis. She was a retired machine operator for Kellwood and a loyal member of Mt. Hermon Primitive Baptist Church, where she had previously served as secretary for over 40 years.
Her funeral service was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with Elder Calvin Warren officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Vardaman. Pallbearers were Matt Lowe, Brad Skinner, Randy Skinner, Joe Hollis, Franklin Hollis and Grover Edington.
She is survived by her daughter, Rubye Alice (Paul) Lowe; her son, George Wayne (Peggy) Skinner, all of Vardaman; three grandsons, Paul Matthew (Sandra) Lowe III, George Bradford Skinner and Randy Lee (Michelle) Skinner and one great-grandson, Walter Lee Skinner. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Randolph "Hay" Skinner; five sisters, Lora Mae Evans, Dora Etta Hollis, Clara Elizabeth Hollis, Flora Belle Calder and Leila Almina Putnam; four brothers, William Byron Hollis, Franklin Graham Hollis, Sr., Clyde Alexander Hollis and Charles Edward Hollis.
