EDWARD RING 1915-1973
Edward Ring of Sterling, [CO] Dies; Rites Saturday---Funeral services for Edward Ring, 58, of 422 Chestnut, will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Saturday from Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Harold Kaestner officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Ring died Tuesday in a Sterling nursing home. He was born March 5, 1915, in Sterling. the son of Jacob and (Katherine) Elizabeth Hettinger Ring. He went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1936 and in 1941 went to work for the CB&Q railroad (now Burlington-Northern) as a car mechanic. Mr. Ring entered the U.S. Army in March 1944 and served in the European Theater of Operations. He was discharged in May 1946 and returned to work for CB&Q until 1962. He then worked as a custodian for several firms until retiring in 1969. He married Clara Karp April 3, 1938 in Sterling, CO. Mr. Ring was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Ring of 422 Chestnut; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Kuehl of the Philippine Islands; a sister, Mrs. Mary Amen of Sterling; and four grandchildren. Walter-Chaney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (News article, Sterling, CO, USA, July 1973)
