This is just a preliminary bio:

1) Abram and Moses (possibly a brother or cousin) were in Kentucky and then moved to Minnesota. (NOTE: I assume they were brothers since they followed each other through most of their lives, but we have no proof.) NOTE: A 1900 Census in Enterprise Township, Reno County, Kansas indicates that both his parents were from Virginia.

2) Abram married Mary "Jane" Sample on 5-Nov-1852 in St Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.

3) Abram & Jane had four daughters:

A) Mary Elizabeth (Click) Hillman.
(married Alfred Edmund Hillman)
born: 11-Nov-1853, Minnesota, USA
died: 14-Mar-1926, Beloit, Mitchell County, Kansas, USA

B) Phoebe Ann (Click) Simpson.
(married Charles G. Simpson 25 Nov 1875)
born: 30 Nov 1855, Minnesota, USA
died: 16 Aug 1934, Beloit, Mitchell County, Kansas, USA

C) Melissa Jane (Click) (Weldin) Wilson.
(married Asyra A. Weldin, then Mr. Wilson who died)
born: 15-Nov-1858, Minnesota, USA
died: 07-Jul-1944, Iola, Allen County, Kansas, USA

D) Abi Clarissa (Click) Keim.
(married Israel Keim)
born: 20-Mar-1860, Minnesota, USA
died: 15-May-1943 Plainville, Rooks County, Kansas USA

Abram's first wife "Jane" died 26-Oct-1865 in Morristown, Rice County, MN USA. No one has found her grave. Note, while we do not know where Jane is buried, the graves of her parents are known:

Jane's father: James Miles Sample
Jane's mother: Clarissa Fralech Sample

4) Abram Click married Emma D. (Jenkins) Click (Butcher) on 26-Oct-1867 in Waseca County, Minnesota.
Emma D's parents are:
Daniel Jenkins &
Joanna B (Austin) (Widger) Jenkins .

The Jenkins were also living in Minnesota at the time when Abram married Emma.

5) Soon after that, Abram, his four girls by Jane, his wife Emma, and their baby daughter Nettie who had been born in Minnesota all left Minnesota. On the way to Kansas, they were living in Des Moines, Iowa in the 1870 census.

In addition to Abram's family, Moses Click's family (most likely a brother or cousin), and the Jenkins family (Abram's in-laws) all moved to the Beloit area of Mitchell County, KS. (The Jenkins arrived in 1871.)

I suspect the reason they move there at least in the case of the Click families was because there were advantages to Civil war vets in regards to the homestead act.

Note, the three youngest children of Abram & Emma were born in the Beloit area:

Here are the four children of Abram & Emma D:

A) Nettie
b. around 1869
d. most likely between 1912 & 1926
I cannot find out anything about her except she was living in Colorado sometime as an adult when she sent some post cards to my grandma. However, note that their is a photo of 3 of the 4 children of Emma's. Arthur Eugene is not in it as he was killed in 1912. Orval died in 1926 and his obituary mentioned only one living sister. Thus Nettie died sometime between July of 1912 and October of 1926. A handwritten note from my mother said Nettie was an artist and is buried in Palm Beach.

B) Linnie May (Click) Payne.
(married Curtis Arthur Payne)
b. 3-Jun-1872 Beloit, Mitchell Co, KS, USA
d. 2-Nov-1956 buried in Lamar, CO

C) Arthur Eugene Click.
(married Margret Mae/May (Deupser) Click)
b. 10-Jan-1877 Beloit, Mitchell CO, KS, USA
d. 10-Jul-1912 buried in Cimarron, KS USA.

(Note: He had a daughter Margaret who was two
years old when he was killed. He also had a baby son with his same name. Arthur Eugene's killing is explained in more detail on his memorial.)

D) Orval Robert Click.
(married Jessie Bell (Martin) Click)
b 04-Sep-1879 Beloit, Mitichell CO, KS, USA
d 10-Oct-1926 Plains, Meade Co, KS USA
buried Partridge, KS USA

Abram supposedly had a brother Moses. He also moved from KY to MN then to KS with Abram. Last reference to him is in Kingman County Kansas with Abram's family.

Here is Moses Click in he 1880 Mitchell County census. This is what I gleamed from that census and other sources in the case of Margaret who was born after the 1880 census:

Marriage 1 Celesta (Sarah) HOWARD b: 1852 in Kane Co. ILL.
Married: 1872 in Rice Co.Minn.
Children
Milton M. Click b: 1873
Styles H. Click b: 1876
Susan Click b: 1880
Margaret Almeda (Click) b: 28 JAN 1884 in Harper, Harper Co. Kansas.

NOTE #1: That list didn't include an Elnora Click who was 11 in the 1880 census So that would put her born in 1871. There is no 1890 census since it was destroyed in fire, so the next possible sensus would be 1900. Perhaps by then (age 29) she was married. Otherwise, she must have died.

NOTE #2: I found a "Bozes Click" in a 1900 census in Webster Township (west half), Woodward, Oklahoma. The name isn't quite right, the birthdate is much older. However, this one is born in Kentucky, has a Susan & Margaret for daughters. He is a widower. If this is him then note that there are two additional children listed: Richard (Feb 1889) & Bessie (Nov 1891). Here is the record:
A Brozes Click 1900 census in Woodward, OK ce

Note #3: www.dalbydata.com is a database for genealogy in southern MN. I used it to try to see if I could find anything out about the Clicks. I found only info on a George H. Click. Born 19/AUG/1872 Died: 20/NOV/1872 (7 months old). His story was in some local paper there.

Note #4: I don't have Moses's full military record, but I did look up what I could find on a place called http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.cfm

entering in his name, that he was Union, that he was representing Minnesota, I found out the following:
Regiment Name: 8 Minnesota Infantry
Side: Union
Company: B
Rank in: Private
Rank out: Private
Notes: Film Number M546 roll 2

(It probably costs. Eventually, I'll pay to get his full record. Perhaps it might mention more important info.)

Note #5: Here is a morman link. Don't know how right it is since was always told that the parents were Dutch, and this has Moses' parents from Virginia. (Note: I don't know if they were born in Holland or that their ancestry was Dutch. Also note that the German word for people is Deutch, so that is another possibility.)

Heritage Files: Moses Click

(Note: That link for some reason says to regenerate some key. I just click on ok and then go on.)

Note #6: In Kingman county KS, someone said that Moses lived next door to a Mathias Click buried in Hutchinson, KS. So wonder if he may be a relative too.

Note #7: Someone found a website with supposedly parentage. However, it sounds rather strange, but I still figured I should mention it. Perhaps some truth will come out of it:

The following is information about Abram throughout the various census records that he appears on:

31-Aug-1850 Census in Stillwell Presinct, Washington County, Minnesota. Abram, Emma, the 4 Click girls via Jane, and Nettie. Note: Their are several spelling mistakes: The last name was misspelled as Cluck instead of Click. Clarissa "Clara" had her name listed as Sarah instead of Clara, and Emma & Abram's first daughter Nettie is listed as Nelly.

01-June-1865 Minnesota Census in Morristown, Rice, Minnesota. Abram, his first wife Jane, and 3 of 4 daughters. (Clarissa is missing.) Note: Phoebe's mother Jane died just a few months after this census. Jane died on 26-Oct-1865 in Morristown, Rice County, Minnesota. Her grave site is not known at this time.

Note: Their are several spelling mistakes: The last name was misspelled as Cluck instead of Click. Clarissa "Clara" had her name listed as Sarah instead of Clara, and Emma & Abram's first daughter Nettie is listed as Nelly.

01-March-1875 Kansas State Census in Beloit township, Mitchell County, Kansas. Abram, Emma, three of the Click daughters, and Nettie and Linnie May (Arthur Eugene & Orval Robert were not born yet.)

01-March-1895 Kansas State Census in Rockford township, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Abram, Emma, Arthur Eugene & Orval Robert). Note that it states specifically, that Abram was born in Louisville, KY. It also states that the boys were born in Mitchel County, KS.

1900 Census in Enterprise township, Reno County, Kansas. Now the family is just Abram, Emma, and son Arthur Eugene. Note that it again says his parents were both born in Virginia.

01-March-1905 Kansas State Census in Ingalls, Gray County, Kansas. Abram, Emma, and the family of Orval Robert Click (except for Marguerite Beulah who was not born until 1909.)
