Jerimiah was the son of Thomas & Susannah Dishman Galloway. Jerimiah's father, Thomas Galloway, was born a Virginian and reared in Tennessee and he fought under Gen. Andrew Jackson at the battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. After the war he (Thomas) was granted bounty land in Kentucky and eventualy settled in the vicinity of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Jerimiah's grandfather, Marshall Galloway, enlisted in the Continental Army, 3rd Maryland Militia (National Archives records show his unit participated in several pivotal battles of the American Revolution: Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, Cowpens, Guliford and numerous other skirmishes) and after the war migrated with his family to Virginia and Tennessee.
Jerimiah never married and died as a young man.
