He was born Feb. 2, 1949, in Burlington to the late Harland "Red" and Leona (Dubruiel) Dooley.
He served four years in the Navy during the Vietnam era and worked at IBM for 20 plus years.
In 1989, he married Annette (Button) Potter.
He was predeceased by a sister Kathleen
