MRS. MARGARET HAMPTON HAS HEART ATTACK
Mrs. Margaret Frances Hampton, widow of the late Henry E.Hampton died suddenly at her home on Harrison street Friday afternoon at 4 oclock of heart trouble. While she had been ailing for the past two or three years,she was confined to her bed only the last few days. She had just awakened Friday afternoon and had taken some nourishment just before the final attack came. She was conversing with some callers when suddenly she fell over from a sitting posture on her bed and died at once. A Physician was summoned, but she was dead before any possible help could be obtained.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Whitley township,Moultrie county,Jan. 29,1842. She was married twice,her first husband being a Mr. Kliver. One child survives from this union, Mrs.Frank W. Drish of Sullivan. Two stepdaughters survive, Mrs. Bert Fruitz of Sullivan and Mrs. George McPheetes of Carbondale. Two brothers,Hiram Scott of Sullivan and John Scott of Mattoon and a sister, Miss Sadie Scott of this city, also survive.
The funeral will probably be held Sunday afternoon. Rev. Bovee a former pastor of the Christian church here is being sought to conduct the funeral but up to this morning his whereabouts had not been discovered. Mrs. Hampton had been a member of the Christian church for 30 years or more and had been an active W.E.T.R. worker.

The funeral of Mrs. Margaret Hampton was held at the christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Mr.Allen of Decatur. Interment was at Greenhill cemetery. The funeral was a large one owing to the fact that Mrs. Hampton had a large circle of acquaintances in and about the city.
