Mrs. Emma Cook, wife of J.N. Cook, of near Scopus, died at their home March 12, 1918. She was born in Bollinger county Nov. 19, 1865, making her age 52 years, 3 months and 23 days.
Sister Cook united with the Christian church in July, 1904, and lived a faithful Christian life.
She was married to J.N. Cook Sept. 30, 1883. She was the mother of nine children, three of whom died in infancy. Sister Cook leaves a husband, six children, four sisters, one brother and a host of friends to mourn their loss.
The testimony of those who were with her during the entire four year period of her suffering is that not a word of complaint fell from her lips. Thus she exemplified the character of her dear Savior.
The funeral services were conducted by the members of the Cole Christian church. - J.E. Hueter
