Albert Stayer
Cadillac, Services for Albert J Stayer 58 of Cadillac will be held at 11 am Saturday in the St Ann's Catholic Church. Father Robert Zuchowiski will officiate.
Mr Stayer died Thaursday in Mercy Hospital.
He was born Apirl 5 1922 in Cadillac and married Carolyn Shabal June 3 1951 in Detroit. He was a lifetimw resident of Cadillac.
Mr Stayer attended St Ann's Elementry School and graduated from Cadillac High School and Ferris State Collage. He taught school in the Luther system for seven years before teaching in Cadillac schools for 20 years. He retired in 1976.
He was a member of the Michigan Education Association and the National Education Association. He served in the U.S Army, where he earned a Purple Heart in World War II. He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans of Cadillac. He is also a member of the St Ann's Church.
Mr Stayer is survivied by his wife, a son James, Lexington , his mother Agnes Stayer; three brothers Joseph jr and Edward, Cadillac, Anthony, Carson City; four sisters Josephine (Mrs Roy) Vincet, Sturgis; Frances (Mrs Robert)Davis, Cadillac; Margaret (Mrs Gaylor) Cardinal, Cadillac; Agnes (Mrs Theodore) Fewless, Casillac and one grandaughter
Burial will be in the MT Carmel Cemetery, Cadillac. A rosary will be said at 8 pm Friday in the Hitesman Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 today at the funeral home.
