Nikalaus Eberle was born in Russia, August 15, 1842, and came to the United States in 1876, to Ellis county. He was married to Eva Goetz-Denning in Russia before migrating to this country, and during all of his life in Ellis county lived in the Munjor settlement, having a farm south of the village. His wife, Eva Goetz-Eberle, died three years ago. Mr. Ebrle had not been sick. He attended Mass and received Holy Communion every morning and it was his absence from church on last Saturday morning which led to the discovery that death had taken him during the night. The funeral was held at Munjor, Sunday afternoon, at 3 o'clock. He is survived by nine children, eight boys and one girl: Mike Denning, a step-son, of Hays; John K. Eberle of Hays, William of Topeka, Frank of Ellis, Joseph of Yocemento, Bathaser of Hays, Susan Eberle-Sanders of Victoria, John M. Eberle of Hugo, Colorado, and Albert of Kansas City.
