FARMER DIES at 60

Special to the Courier-Journal Owenton,Ky., Dec.13

Fred Clifton, 60, farmer of near Gratz, died here today at Owen County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Atha Raisor, Mrs. Mary Bibb and Mrs. Nannie Fitzgerald, all of Indiana; Mrs. Bertie Miller, Carrollton; Mrs. Rachel McCain, Bellview, and Mrs. Lina Mae Cannon, Owenton and three brothers, Sollie and David Clifton, both of Owenton, and Robert Clifton, Carrollton. The funeral will be here at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redding, Smither & Kemper Funeral Home; burial, Squiresville.

Fred never married and lived with his mother, as the man of the house for many years. He was well loved by his nieces & nephews, going out with the younger boys for a night on the town. He was often the brunt of a lot of practical jokes from his brothers & nephews and always responded with much laughter & good will because he knew they were done with love. He was a generous man helping the family during their hard times. There are a lot of fond memories of him by those who knew him.
