Funeral Services Held at Naples Chapel for Alberto Merrell.

NAPLES (SPECIAL) - Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Naples Ward Chapel, under the direction of the Bishopric, for Alberto Merrell, 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Merrell of Naples. The services were conducted by Bishop Byron Goodrich. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse.

The services were opened by a double mixed quartet consisting of Mrs. Ina Chivers, Mrs. Orva Lybbert, Mrs. Ella Goodrich, Miss Lela Goodrich, O'Donell Goodrich, Charlie Goodrich, Jacob Lybbert and Charles Pierce singing "Sometime We'll Understand." The opening prayer was by Parley O. Mitchell, selection by double mixed quartet, "Abide With Me."

The first speaker was Elder Wallace Johnson who spoke of the good qualities of the deceased. The quartet sang, "Come Follow Me", followed by President A.G. Goodrich, who spoke of the many friends the deceased had, of his close acquaintance with him.

The third speaker, Lewis S. Gardiner, told of what a fine athlete Berto was, concluding remarks were made by Bishop Byron Goodrich. The quartet sang, "My Father Knows", after which the benediction was pronounced by Luther Gale.

A large assemblage followed the remains to the Vernal Cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Harold E. Hullinger. The pallbearers were friends, relatives and brothers of the deceased as follows: Lowell Jacobson, Kenneth Angus, Newell Merrell, Clinton Marshall Archie and William Richardson.

Alberto was born Sepember 12, 1912 in Bluebell, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E. Merrill. The family have resided in Naples for the past five years.

He is survived by his father and mother and eleven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Melvin Gardiner, Violet, Newell, Charie, Ernest, Elma, Frank, Elwin, June, Hosea and Earl.
