In 1860 Abraham was living with wife and 2 y/o son George W. in Indianapolis Ward 1. He was noted as a Master B[rick] Mason and born Ohio. In 1863, when the Federal government began income taxes to help pay for the Civil War, "Abel" was assessed $5.31 "ad valorem duty" on his income of $117.
By 1870 Abe and Mary had added son Henry, who was then 10. Abraham was working as a Constable in Indianapolis, a job his brother Jefferson had also held.The two boys were still living in the household with Abraham and Mary in 1880, when Abe was listed as a contractor. George was working as a "Traveling man" and Henry was at school. They had a servant in the household.
Abraham died in 1895, leaving his wife and two sons. Mary survived him by almost 16 years. They are buried alongside each other at Crown Hill.
Abraham may have been original purchaser of family plot per cemetery.
