Eldon (Andy, Sam) Anderson, 85, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2008 at Mountain West Medical Center in Tooele, Utah after suffering several years with Alzheimer's Disease. He will be missed by all who knew him.





Andy was born Aug. 5, 1922 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He married Dawna Vee Dawson on July 26, 1945 and marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Andy moved to Tooele, UT in 1936 after their family home in Canada was lost in a fire. He worked several years operating heavy equipment in the Civilian Conservation Corp. and later worked on the construction of the Tooele Ordinance Depot. He honorably served in the US Navy Seabees during World War n in the South Pacific as a heavy equipment operator. After the war ended he worked at TEAD and Dugway Proving Ground as a fireman retiring after 29 years of service. Andy and his wife were blessed to spend 27 winters in Yuma, AZ after his retirement. He was very talented in building, especially in cement and masonry work in the Tooele area. He passed on a strong work ethic to his children. He was a member of F.O.E. and a past president of the Tooele Good Sam Club enjoying camping and fishing in his boat. Andy was also an active member of the LDS Church and they spent many hours doing temple work in their later years.






He was survived by his wife, Dawna, sons, Kelly (Kris) and Dan Anderson, son-in-law, Rob Jensen, sisters, Mildred Weedman, Henderson, NV; Lillie Unsworth, WVC, UT; Gaye Maxfield, SLC, UT; sister-in-law, Jane Anderson, Grantsville, UT; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, daughter, Kathy Jensen, sisters, Virginia Frazier and Barbara Curtis, brother, Melvin Anderson, and grandson, Mitchell Mayfield.






The Funeral Service will be held at Tooele 11th LDS Ward Chapel, 180 South Coleman, Tooele on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 12:00 noon where Friends may visit at 11:00 a.m. prior to Services or at Tate Mortuary 110 So. Main Street, Tooele on Sunday, June 29, from 6-8 p.m.
Interment to follow at the Tooele City Cemetery.
