Douglas Clark married Mahaley Benge on 21 Mar 1889 at the residence of the brides parents, Alfred and Amaanda Pottorff Benge.

Douglas Clark was born in Davis county near Floris on March 12, 1863, and passed away at his home March 29, 1937. He was married to Mahala Benge on March 7, 1892.
Those left to mourn his loss are his wife and three children, Arthur Clark of Ottumwa, Mrs. Gildie Brooks of Eldon, Mrs. Sylvia Rupe of Drakesville; one step-daughter, Mrs. Edna Grinstead of Batavia; four brothers, two sisters David, O.N., George of Floris, Sam of Oklahoma, Mrs, Harriet McIntosh, Mrs. Emma Hart of Floris; eight grandhcildren, one great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one infant child, three-sisters, two brothers.
He was a member of the Floris Christian church.
Funeral rites were conducted March 31 by Rev. Luther Childs, of Centerville, at Floris. Burial was at Floris.
