Dtr of Robert and Margaret Smith, born in Perth, Montreal, Quebec province, Canada. The Smith family moved to Scott County in 1854, settling on a farm near Long Grove, IA. In 1864 the family moved to Davenport where they were members of the Christian Church.
Jacob and Agnes married 28 Sept 1886 in Davenport. Jacob died in 1902 in his home at 1530 Kirkwood Blvd. (sw corner Farnam & Kirkwood). Agnes died of apoplexy in her sister's home at 1614 LeClaire St. She was interred 29 Jan 1937. They had no children. Known as "Kitty Oma".
