Ruth Anderson, a choice daughter of her Heavenly Father, died on June 13, 2008, in Salem, Utah.

Elizabeth was born in Logan, Utah, on Oct. 21, 1946, to goodly parents: Ruth Elizabeth and Elmer Wesley Anderson Sr. She was reared in the small town of Mendon, Utah, and has fond memories of her childhood. She grew into a beautiful, gracious woman who loved the Lord and Gospel of Jesus Christ. Elizabeth married Brent Kirby and they had eight children. They were later divorced.

Elizabeth moved to Lodi, Calif., in 1987 and made many friends there, just as she made friends wherever she went.

She graduated Cum Laude from the University of California Davis in 1998 with an MS in Textiles. She designed the firefighter uniforms for the State of California Wildland Fires and put them into full production; they are still in use today. She taught sewing, textile science, pattern making and design at three different colleges.

After returning to Utah in 2004, Elizabeth managed the Clarion Manor Center in Payson and had her own sewing business. She taught many women of all ages how to sew, and she loved the people she taught.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elizabeth served as YW President, Primary and Relief Society pianist, YW Camp Leader, and she enjoyed callings to serve in the Logan and Provo LDS Temples.

Elizabeth is survived by her eight children: Rachelle (Andrew) Sessions, Wendi (Thomas) Alexander, Jason Brent Kirby, Jerramy V. Kirby, Justin E. Kirby, Jennilyn (Garrett) Aston, Kody Aaron Kirby, and Amber Elizabeth Kirby. Eight granddaughters and one grandson also survive her as do two sisters: Kim Stuart and Paula Reupert. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Alice, and a brother, Elmer Wesley Anderson Jr.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Salem West Stake Center, 695 South 300 West in Salem, Utah. There will be no Viewing. Friends may gather on Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Liz's home to share memories.
Burial will be in the Mendon City Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
