Mrs. Dorn was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter of Jesse and Aleta (Cummings) Abell. She died at Plano Medical Center, Plano, Texas.
She was a graduate of St. Xavier Catholic School in Denison, Texas and in 1926 she graduated from the St. Vincent's Hospital Nurses Training School. She retired from her nursing career in 1974 after 50 consecutive years with both St. Vincent's Hospital and Sherman Community Hospital.
Mary married Frank Joseph Dorn Sr. in Forth Worth, Texas on 9 April 1929. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman served in the church's Altar Society.
She was survived by her son, Frank Joseph Dorn Jr. of Hurst, Texas; daughters, Mrs. Bettye Sue Bacile of Richardson, Texas, Mrs. Mary Jane Mulkey of Plano, Texas and Mrs. Ginger Elliott of Sherman; and 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A Rosary was recited by Deacon James Adlof at St Mary's Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated by Reverend Carl Vogel of McKinney, Texas at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sherman.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Bobby Elliott Jr., Mike Mutchler, Floyd Holt, David Mills, Anthony Bacile, Shawn Bacile, Michael Bacile, Skip Mulkey and Tom Ramsdell.
