Martin Swift II was the son of Martin and Mary Gavin Swift.
He was the brother of Mrs. Abigail Flynn, James Swift, Mrs. Mary Ellen McGugin, John Thomas Swift, Aloysus Bartholmew Swift, Francis Swift, and Mrs. Jane Florence Bruty.
He married Ms. Julia Tobin September 5 1882 in Washington County Iowa. To this union nine children were born: Abigail A., Ellen, Mary, Oswin Martin, Joseph Thomas Swift, Coletta Julia, Loretta E., Helena, and Lucy Maude Swift.
