Paul retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 31 years as a management analyst and also retired from the U. S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of the Parkersburg American Legion Post 15 and volunteered building houses for the Habitat for Humanity. He graduated from PHS in 1956, received his B. A. in Business Administration in 1963, and his MALL degree in Native American History in 1997 both from Marietta College. Paul was a member of the Parkersburg Amateur Radio Klub and was known by his HAM letters W8PAR.
Surviving in addition to his father is his wife Ellen Christine Marshall Anderson, a stepson David Reed of Waverly, a stepdaughter Lydia Overby of Washington, a brother Morgan "Andy" Anderson of Keedysville, MD, and 5 grandchildren: Wesley Reed, Sarah Martin, Nicholas Martin, Brittany Reed and Will Reed.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, south Parkersburg, Bishop Brian Green officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marietta College 215 5th St. Marietta, OH 45750 in memory of Paul Anderson.
