He graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1898. He practiced medicine in Cowan, TN for 45 years. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, a Mason, a member of the Woodmen of the World, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pythias. Cause of Death: Acute Coronary Occlusion.
