The son of John Hartwell Marable, III and Louise Gholson Marable. Paul worked for the Illinois Central Railroad as Chief Tariff Clerk in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He died of lung cancer. Although born in Montgomery County, TN, he had lived in Memphis, TN earlier and Chicago and then was brought back to Memphis where he was buried.
