Funeral services for John L. Nelson, 92, of Shreveport will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 27, 2002 in Centuries Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. kenneth Murray, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Nelson passed away Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Willis Knighton South after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Bienville, LA and had resided in Shreveport for the past 62 years. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local #764. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army and had participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lilly Nelson; a sister, Pauline Langford; and a brother, Antrie Nelson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mamie B. Nelson; a sister, Irene Bankston both of Shreveport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
