Funeral services for R.L. Nelson, 89, of 3358 Meriwether Road, who died at 11 a.m. April 2 will be held at 2:30 p.m. April 3 in the chapel of the Rose-Neath Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack W. Wease, pastor of the First Evangelical Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Centuries Park Cemetery.
A native of Bear Creek, Mr. Nelson had been a farmer and had resided in Shreveport for the past 33 years.
He is survived by two sons, John L. Nelson and A. L. Nelson and two daughters, Mrs. Pauling Langford and Miss Irene Nelson, all of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Lou Hanson of Dallas TX; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
