LaVerne K. Birky -- Morgan Township -- LaVerne K. Birky, 92 of Morgan Township, passed away December 15, 2017. She was born January 30, 1925 in Morgan Township to Jake and Emma (Miller) Birky. LaVerne retired from Pappas Floral in Valparaiso, where she worked for 32 years and was a member of Hopewell Mennonite Church. LaVerne is survived by her brother, Verlin (Marge) Birky; sister-in-law, Sandra Birky; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marvin Birky and Uarda King. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 10:00-11:30 AM at Hopewell Mennonite Church in Kouts with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Kouts. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Hopewell Mennonite Church. Kosanke Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
