MASON CITY - Bernard J. Clark, 69, of 1507 8th Street S.W., died Sunday (June 9, 2002) at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa.
His funeral will be held at 10:30AM Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. James M. Magelssen, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave. in Mason City.
Memorials may be given to the Bernard J. Clark Memorial Fund.
Bernie was born Aug. 4, 1932, in Mason City, the son of Barney and Leah (Beisel) Clark. He graduated from Mason City High School.
Bernie married Janet A. Jarshaw on Nov. 18, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. The Clarks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November of 2000.
Bernie worked for Armour Co. for 44 years retiring on Aug. 26, 1994. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Marshall and Swift.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Clark and wife, Vicky, of Mason City and Mark Clark, of Mason City; two daughters, Julie Dorsey, of Mason City, and Kimberly Clark, of Mason City; five grandchildren, Heather Welch and husband, Ryan, Melissa and Matthew Clark, Amber and Kristen Dorsey; great grandson, Ethan; sister-in-law, Georgia Clark of Mason City; nephew, David Clark and wife Ann; two nieces, Christine and Karen Clark.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry; and wife, Janet in October of 2001.
