GLEN ROCK – Henry J. Cornbower, 79, husband of Bertha Douglass Cornbower, died Friday at 8:30 a.m. at his home, 35 Manchester Street.
He was born near Glenville, a son of the late William H. and Priscilla Sterner Cornbower, and had been a resident of the Glen Rock area for 35 years. He was last employed by Oliver Corporation in York, retiring 16 years ago.
Mr. Cornbower was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Company and Firemen's Relief.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Markel, Shrewsbury, and Mrs. Dorothy Wagner, Miami, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a step-brother, Lawrence E. Shearer, Glen Rock.
The Rev. Dr. C. Eugene Blum, interim pastor at Trinity, will conduct the funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. from the Geiple Funeral Home. Burial will take place in St. Jacob's (Stone) Church Cemetery.
