Ruby G. Butler, 97, of Beech Creek, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Centre Crest Nursing Home. She was born on April 29, 1921 a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Julia Foringaer Chaplain. On May 29, 1938 she married the love of her life, the late Walter M. Butler.

Ruby is survived by a son, Clifford Butler; a brother, Budd Chaplain; 19 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pearl Berry; three brothers, John, Earl, and Edward Butler; two daughters, Donna Irvin and Shirley Rodgers and five sons, Wayne, Kenneth, Rickey, Walter II, and Edward Butler.

She was also preceded by two grandchildren, Walter Butler III, and Lisa Cambell, and two great-grandchildren, Walter Butler IV, and Stephen Herrold.

Ruby was known to most as “Nan.” She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, family gatherings, and her many dogs through the years.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard with Rev. Kathleen Danley officiating. Burial will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard. Friends will be received at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
