He was born April 19, 1947, in Deridder, La., to Abner Elvin and Marietta Louise Harrison Miers.
Miers was a member of the United Methodist Church of Leakey.
For the last several years he and his wife, Inky Hall Miers, owned and operated M&M Outfitters. He was an avid sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, who resides in Deridder, La.; one sister, Rebecca Travis and husband, Charles, of Deridder, La.; one brother, Jim Miers and wife, Darlene, of Deridder, La.; one daughter, Christy Tuck and husband, Tim, of Leesville, La.; two grandchildren; two step-children, Lisa Holloway of Fort Worth and Ronnie Bryd and wife, Sara, of Decatur; and five step-grandchildren.
