Samuel Charles Huggard, 72, died Thursday, March 15, 2001.

He was born June 23, 1928, in Salt Lake City to Samuel Charles and Mary Lovira Johnson Huggard. He married Dorothy Cerny July 10, 1947 in Ely, NV; and they were later divorced. He married Bessie Johnson Sept 22, 1975 in Elko, NV; she died April 25, 1978. Sam was retired from Deseret Chemical Depot. He was a collector of antiques and cars, and loved to trade. He had many friends who dearly loved him. He loved hunting and being outdoors, and especially loved being with his grandchildren.

Sam is survived by two sons, Ed (Sandy) Huggard, Las Vegas; Charles (Cindy) Huggard, Salt Lake City; two daughters, Rosalind (Stephen) Trease, West Valley City; Connie Eye, Taylorsville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde (Thelma) Carson; one sister, Thelma Bryant; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Carson; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Ross "Hop" Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Melvin and Cyril Huggard; Les and George Carson; and a granddaughter, Theresa Huggard.

Services will be Mon. March 19, 2001, 11 a.m., Anderson and Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N, American Fork, where friends may call Sun. 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services Mon. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
