Rhea Loosle Archibald, 86, passed away on June 7, 2008 in her sleep at her daughter's home in West Bountiful, Utah.

Rhea was born in Clarkston, Utah on January 25, 1922 to Byron Lee Loosle and Ella Loretta Larson. She married Eldredge Archibald on October 8, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Lynn Archibald, and a daughter, Ila Merrill. Two brothers, Stratford and Gordon Loosle also preceded her in death, as did a sister, Annabel Buttars. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Stock (Ron); a daughter-in-law, Anne Archibald White (Lynn); and a son-in-law, Clark Merrill (Ila). Her surviving siblings are, Lyle Loosle (Mary), Marlin Loosle (Terry), Arlene Johnson (Earl) and Ileen Barlow (Elwood). She also has 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rhea spent her youth and early married years in Clarkston, Utah. Later she and Eldredge moved with their children to Payette, Idaho, then to Hermiston, Oregon and finally to Torrance, California, where their children began their schooling. After her husband's retirement, they moved back to Utah where they spent their retirement years in Smithfield. After Eldredge's death, Rhea moved to Hemet, California. As her health began to decline, she moved to West Bountiful, Utah, where she lived with her daughter, Vicki Stock. Rhea was always an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked diligently in the youth organizations. Her home was always open to not only her children's friends, but to any of the young people with whom she was working. Many of the high school age nieces spent the summer with the Archibald family in California during summer vacations where Rhea "mothered" them and taxied them to and from work and their other activities. She will be greatly missed here, but we know she will enjoy the reunion with her wonderful husband, whom she hasn't seen for 17 years, and with her children and family who are there to greet her.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the West Bountiful 5th Ward Chapel, 840 N. 800 W. Friends may call Monday, June 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and on Tuesday from 8:45-9:45 at the Church prior to the Services.
Interment: Clarkston City Cemetery, Clarkston, Utah.
