Wilburn was born March 22, 1912 in Reno, Texas to William and Abbie (Cantrell) Pugh. Brother of Mary Alvie Pugh Price, Willie Mae Pugh Stone, and Edward Pugh.

On June 2, 1935 he married Addie L. Warren of Salus, Ark. He worked in the loggin industry as a truck driver and operated a general store. He served in World War II in the South Pacific with the 172nd Infantry of the 43rd Division from 1943 until his honorable discharge Feb. 20, 1946. Mr. Pugh received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Mr. and Mrs. Pugh moved to Coffeyville in 1952 where he worked for Continental Can Co. as shop steward in the carpenter ship until 1958. He then worked as a carpenter contractor in the Coffeyville area until 1971 when he retired for health reasons.

Mr. Pugh was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as Sunday school teacher, deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He also coached several area Little League Colt teams to championships.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill and Richard, both of South Coffeyville; two daughters, Geraldine Castle of Chetupa and Marianne Long of Mecune; a sister, Willie Mae Stone of Decatur, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eunice.
