Manhattan ML #5557 shows that Henry Angell, a Baptist minister of 110 Avenue C, NYC, married James Sears and Sarah Bradley on 20 Sep 1870. Witnesses were John A. Owens and Charles Sears, younger brother of the groom. Sarah, 20, was born in Utica, NY, the daughter of Isaac Bradley and his wife, Eliza Williams.

1880 census showed James Sears living at 245 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, occupation: jeweler. Living with him were his wife, Sarah, aged 29, children Gussie (Agusta), aged 6, and Seymour, 1 and 1/12.

1900 census showed Sarah living with her husband and daughter, Mabel, and her brother-in-law, Brown Sears, at 744 Humboldt St., Brooklyn.

1910 Census had Sarah Bradley,60, as the head of the household, widowed, living with her daughter, Mabel S. Sears, at 270 Walton Street, in Queens. She had 4 children, of whom 3 were living.

1920 census showed her living as a boarder, 70, with Emma Gilbert (68) at 33 Yarmouth Street, Woodhaven, Queens Co., NY.

According to the 1930 census, she was 80 years old.

Died in the Cleveland home at 8719 164th Street, Jamaica of "apoplexy" on 10 Jan 1931. Death Certificate # 317 Queens Co., NY cited cause of death as cerebral hemorrhage and arterial sclerosis. She was buried the next day in the Sears/Bradley family plot, Section 17, Lot 296, East Part, of the Cypress Hills Cemetery on the Queens/Brooklyn border.
