Thelma Olivia was born February 13, 1904 to Delbert Arless and Jennie Brown Flippen Burge in Paris, Texas. The couple had met in Paris, Texas, and married in 1899.
Delbert and Jennie had another daughter, Delma, and a son, Bufford "Buddy" before they separated. Jennie, Thelma, Delma and Buddy later moved to Dallas.
Thelma met Charlie Reeb when they both worked at Hillie Automotive. They married June 30, 1920 and lived near Charlie's parents in Arcadia Park.
The couple had 15 children, including two young boys who died as children. It was a large, happy, loving family. Thelma, also called Reebie, was the first president of the Arcadia Park Elementary School PTA.
She often played a gypsy fortune teller at PTA Halloween carnivals.
Both she and her husband were members of the American Legion, where Charlie served as a president of the local chapter, and Reebie served as a president of the women's auxiliary.
The couple celebrated their 50th anniversary in June 1970.
Thelma died September 26, 1978 in a Garland hospital.
She was laid to rest in Calvary Hill Cemetery next to her son Anthony Arless who died when he was a child.
