Her father was a veteran of WWI where he served at Camp Mabry, Austin, and her mother was a mother and homemaker, active in the Arcadia Park PTA.
Jeanette married William Forrest Kennedy from Grand Prairie on July 11, 1942, a few months before Forrest enlisted in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He served through the war and then re-enlisted. Jeanette and their daughter Kathy followed Forrest from station to station, including service in Great Brittain.
The family settled in Mesa, Arizona, where Forrest went to work for Reynolds Aluminum after he retired from the military.
The Kennedys returned often to Texas for family reunions and special celebrations. They were devout Catholics.
