Thomas was married to Rosa Knisple. Nellie and Gracie were born to this union.

Thomas attained the age of 66 years and 4 months.

The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book.

Well known among the pioneer settlers of Delaware Township, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wright homesteaded south of Lennox upon coming to Dakota Territory in 1873.

Mr. Wright was born at Waukegan, IL, September 15, 1846. When he was but eight years old his parents moved to Ripon, Wis., where he received his education and grew to manhood.

He married Miss Rosina Knisple December 31, 1869, and the couple continued to make their home at Ripon until filing on their claim 10 miles south of the present Lennox townsite four years later.

Mrs. Wright—nee Rosina Knisple— was born at Breslau, Germany, August 9, 1848. Her parents, Gottfried and Johanna Knisple, immigrated to the United States and settled in Wisconsin, in 1850.

Mr. and Mrs. Knisple homesteaded in Delaware Township, nine miles south of here, in 1875. In 1893 they moved to Lennox.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright continued to make their home on their farm and both took an active part and displayed keen interest in the affairs of the community surrounding. There was very little settlement here upon their arrival, and much of the trading was done at Vermillion, Mr. Wright oftentimes walking the distance to and from the Clay county settlement. His
part in the development of the vicinity and deeds accomplished received many appraisals.

Two children were born to this union, namely: Mrs. Jake (Nellie) Ellis, of Spicer, Minn., and Mrs. Hugh B. (Grace) McFarland, of Lennox.

Mr. Wright passed away January 15, 1913 and Mrs. Wright succumbed January 3, 1920.
