Mr. Harris passed away Friday, February 2, 2001 in Mansfield, LA. He was born in Ruston, LA and was a resident of Mansfield. Mr. Harris retired as district pipeline superintendent at Southern Natural Gas after 40 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his father, Miller C. Harris; mother, Myra Hinton Harris; sister, Carolyn Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Luella Neaville Harris; children, Sharon Deas, Ginger Parker of Mansfield, LA, Shelia Pugh of Louisville, MS, Marilyn Heard of Ruston, LA and Ralph Harris of St. Bernard, LA; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren; step mother, Nan Harris of Ruston, LA; one sister, Ann Carney of St. Petersburg, FL.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Heard, Lance Parker, Cody Parker, Sammy Nichols, Bridges Hall, Shawn Deas and Sidney Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Dairy Queen Coffee Group of Logansport and the retirees of Southern Natural Gas.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mansfield, Louisiana.
