Mary Cornelia Isabel Swank, daughter of William and Elizabeth Swank, was born in Appanoose county, near Unionville, Ia., July 18, 1858, and passed peacefully away Dec. 21, 1932, at the age of 74 years, five months and three days. She had lived her entire life in the Unionville vicinity. Death was due to paralysis and infirmities of old age.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Marion Crow on April, 11, 1875, who passed away Dec. 5, 1921. To this union 13 children were born, the eldest dying in infancy. The surviving children are Alta Whisler of Montesano, Washington, Fred of Brethren, Mich., Glenn, of Rockford, Ill., Florin of Ft. Madison, Ia., Regina of Moulton, Ia., Carl of Dean, Ia., Charlie, Leo and Elfa Walker of Centerville, Iowa, Dellas and Gilbert of Unionville, Ia., and Ralph, whose whereabouts are unknown at present time. All of the children except Ralph were with her during her last illness.
She also has one sister, Mrs. Alice Strunk, and one brother, Will Swank of Kansas; 36 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She united with the Methodist church in her early life and had retained her membership with this body throughout. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. She loved her home and could always be found there. She was a patient sufferer and when asked if she was ready to go said "Yes, thank God, it will soon be over, and I am patiently waiting the end."
Funeral was held Friday, Dec. 23 at the M.E. church in Unionville, conducted by Rev. R. C. Rowe, and interment made in Eaton cemetery beside her husband.

Mrs. Mary Crow Taken By Death

Mary Cornelia Elizabeth Crow, 74 years of age, and a long time and well known and loved resident of Unionville, Iowa, vicinity died at her home at 5:00 p. m. last Wednesday. Mrs. Crow was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, 11 years ago, December 5. There were 13 children born to their union and with the exception of the first, a girl, that died in infancy, all are living. They are Bellas, of Unionville, Ralph, whereabouts unknown at this time, Mrs. Alta Whisler, Montesano, Washington, Fred of Brethern, Mich., Glenn of Rockford, ILL., Florin of Ft. Madison, Charles of Centerville, Carl of Dean, Mrs. Regna Davison, of Moulton, Gilbert at home, Mrs. Elfa Walker of Centerville. Leo Crow of Centerville, and one sister and brother also survive as follows: Mrs. Alice Strunk, of Mutual, Oklahoma, and Mr. Swank of Kansas. Mrs. Crow died within one mile of the place where she was born, nearly 75 years ago. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Unionville, Friday at 2:00 p. m., with Rev. R. C. Rowe officiating. Burial was made in the Eaton cemetery.
