Memberships: He was a 50 year member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, the California National Guard, rising to the rank of 1st sergeant before resigning, a member of the Monterey Moose Lodge no 876, an a member of E Clampus Vitus 1846, Monterey Viejo, rising all the way to Noble Grand Humbug.
He was married to Joyce Ann Grigg, May 19,1956, (a date he could easily remember) in Aptos, His wife of more than 50 years preceded him in death Feb 5, 2007. Survivors: Son Rob (Jackie) Amos of Memphis, Tenn; Daughters, Terri (Phil) Arrendale of Rio Rancho, NM and Leslie (Pat) McChristy of Boise, Idaho: brothers, Hershel, Bill, Donald "Red", Larry, Chester "Skip" Amos; sisters, Dixie Strode and Diane Thompson, Grandchildren Kelli, Mathieu, Kristin, Eric, Jenell, Lynsie and Megan; great-grandaughters Hayley and Courtney and expecting Paige and great-grandson Alex on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service was held at 11AM Saturday April 12, at Mission Memorial Park, Seaside. A Celebration of Live was held at 1230PM at the Monterey Moose Lodge.
Infamous Amos rose to the top of E Clampus Vitus having served as a Proctor for the Grand Council Of E Clampus Vitus. He was a beloved character in the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Texas. He will be missed. Infamous has gone to the Golden Hills
