He was married to Nannie C. Stifle, who died August 4, 1875. To this union was born one sons, B. O. Bonesteel, who now resides at Danville, Ill.
He was again married to May McConn, June 26th, 1876, who with five children, Guy W., Jennie, Mabel, Levi and Lillian, survive, one daughter, Anna Amanda, having died in infancy. He is also survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Amanda Best, two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Dix and Mrs. Rosa Culp, 2 brothers, Andrew and George Best, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock at the residence, Rev. T. J. Wheeler of Robinson, officiating. Interment was in Bailiff cemetery.
