She was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Benson to Cornelius and Anna Bauman Janssen. Dorothy married Merton Koch in Roanoke on June 28, 1941. He died on Feb. 19, 2001, in Peoria.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Elaine) Koch of Washington and David (Luanne) Koch of Cantril, Iowa; one brother, Willis "Bud" (Carol) Janssen of Benson; one sister, Lena Kirby of Memphis, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting in her spare time.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, South of Washington.
