Crystal Spring's Oldest Citizen Buried Near Home
Mrs A D Slay, 92, Crystal Springs oldest citizen, died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs Kate Ferguson.
Mrs Slay was the widow of Judge A D Slay, Justice of the Peace here for many years. Mrs Slay has made her home with her daughter for the last few years. Although feeble in health she was an inspiration to her family and friends. She was a life long member of the Baptist church.
Mrs slay is survived by the following children, Bob Slay and Mrs Kate Ferguson, Crystal Springs; Mrs Vernon Gates, J M Evans and Med Collins, all of Jackson; also 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Baptist church with interment in the family lot at the city cemetery.
