Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10:30 for Mrs J V Gates, 62, from the Baldwin chapel. Dr W Douglas Hudgins, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be made at Lakewood.
Mrs Gates died at the family residence, 306 Alexander, Friday morning at 12:05 after an illness of several months.
A native of Simpson county, Mrs Gates had been a resident of Jackson for the past 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist church.
Surviving are a son, James V Gates, Monroe, La; a brother Bob Slay, Crystal Springs and four sisters, Mrs J T Bell and Mrs Kate Ferguson, both of Crystal Springs and Mrs J M Evans and Mrs M P Collins, both of Jackson.
Pallbearers will be her nephews; Graham Ferguson, Boyce Ferguson, Colan Farmer, Cline Farmer, Jack Evans and Glenn Breland.
