William G. "Bill" Dykstra, Jr. age 66 of Manassas, Virginia died on Monday, April 16, 2007 at Prince William Hospital after a two week illness. Bill was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on July 9, 1940. He had lived in Manassas for the past 30 years.
Bill was a very devoted husband and father. He received his PhD from Northeastern University and has been employed the past 30 years as a Toxicologist for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Natalie and William Dykstra, Sr. and by one daughter Virginia Nell Dykstra.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years Catherine M. Shannon Dykstra; his daughters Natalie Dykstra Rutkowski and her husband Stanley of Manassas and Colleen Marie Joy Dykstra of the home; his sisters Trudy Desmarais and her husband Richard and Joan Dykstra both of Manchester, N.H.; one granddaughter Sarah Natalie Rutkowski, 7 days old and also by 5 brothers-in-law and their families and one nephew Michael Desmarais and family of Manchester, N.H.
Memorial Services will be held at Manassas Baptist Church, 8730 Sudley Road, Manassas on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the Colleen Dykstra Trust Fund, c/o Commerce Bank, Attn: Rogenia Lembo, 9800 Liberia Avenue, Manassas, Virginia 20110.
