My grandmother. She had beautiful thick wavy hair and a funny laugh. She loved to tickle until you almost screamed.
She grew up in Reading with her brother Elliott. Married young and had two sons. She lost her husband Rene before he was 60 and just never seemed the same. It was discovered that she had deterioration of the nerves in her spine and was not bedridden but not as mobile as she would have liked. She loved her bridge parties and socializing with friends in Lansdowne PA but that came to an abrupt end. Watching Pro wrestlers was her passion with a box of Whitman Samplers by her side. She hated raisins but loved raisin pie.Visiting Ma Ma Grace was special, she had casement windows I could sit in and look out at the trees or read. Tiny porcelain collections that were fascinating to a 4 years old and that special smile. Her maid Eliza would put me down for a nap on the chaise lounge and then wake me up and promise me some shoo fly pie. She gave us her piano when she moved into an apartment, though I never learned to play I did love to tinker on the piano and my other grandmother Sed would visit and play old time tunes.
