Freddie Lue Lightsey Blitch Lanier was the daughter of Sally Ruth Waters Lightsey McClelland and Fred H. Lightsey and stepdaughter of Pernell McClelland, Sr. Her first husband was John Donald Blitch, and her second was Daniel Edwin Lanier. While Freddie Lue is buried in a marked grave at Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery near her son, Marcus Donald Blitch, there is also a tombstone for her next to her second husband at Ash Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Guyton - Mrs. Freddie Lue Blitch Lanier, 85, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Westview Nursing Home in Port Wentworth. Mrs. Lanier was a native of Bulloch County, but lived in Guyton a number of years, she was a retired ward clerk at Memorial Medical Center with over 20 years of service and was a member of South Garden Baptist Church. Survivors: one daughter and son-in-law, Katheryn and Al Lucus of Guyton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jake E. and Avis Lanier of Savannah; seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday evening November 28, from 5:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service: Saturday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ben Wages Chapel of Riggs Funeral Home with Rev. William Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. Remembrance may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
