John Donald Blitch, 64, of 330 Chevis Road, died Wednesday at his home after a short illness. He retired in 1968 and was a member of Local Union 709 of International Structural and Ornamental Ironworkers of America. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Essie Mays Blitch of Savannah; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Blitch Lucas of Selfridge, Mo., and Mrs. Joyce Kendrick Oglesby of Savannah; a son, Kenneth J. Duncan of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Susie B. Woods of Alaska, Mrs. Eliane B. Ballentyne of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Elise B. Thomas of Starke, La., and Mrs. Marian B. Parham of Hollywood, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Fox and Weeks Funeral Homes, with burial in Hillcrest West Cemetery.
