She was born November 23, 1924 to Henry and Lilly Allen of Liberty, KY, to a family of ten living children (three sisters and seven brothers).
Wadie married George Gibson of Liberty, KY on January 22, 1945, and they had three children (two daughters and one son) who survive her: Jerry T. Gibson, Carol J. Bettag, and Shelia K. Mabie. She is survived by five grandchildren: Richard A. Bettag, Dawn R. Bettag-Jackson, Crystal G. Beasley, Matthew T. Mabie, and Amy Gibson. She is survived by four great grandchildren: Chastene Rogers, Lauryn Bettag, Hannah Willis, and Will Underwood.
Wadie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lilly Allen, and three brothers, Owensby, Omer, and Dee Allen.
She is survived by two sisters, Loshie Peck and Sophie Marples, and four brothers, Thad, Kermit, Franklin, and Garnett Allen; also she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Wadie was a stay-at-home mom for many years, but later in life did some in-home caring for the elderly. Wadie was a member of West Washington Street Church of God (Anderson, IN) for many years.
Funeral arrangements were made by Stevens Mortuary, located at 5520 W. 10th St., Indianapolis, Indiana.
A Memorial Service was held on Friday, May 30th at the Bartles Funeral Home.
A graveside service was held at Whited Cemetery near Liberty, KY, where Wadie's resting place is near her mother.
The Officiant for the service is Pastor Chris Ray of North Suburban Baptist Church.
